Day 64: Sat 25 Jul 26 - Alice Springs

Day 64: Sat 25 Jul  26 - Alice Springs

Cold this morning  -0.5 Deg, apparent -3 Deg, reaching a top of 14, feeling like 7, sunny with  fresh SE winds. As I write (2030), it is a VERY FRESH 5 Deg, feeling like 1 Deg, and we have the heater running.

It was a down day today; down in pace and photos. I felt too cold all day to even go out for a ride. We had a very slow start due to the cold morning, then we got stuck into general cleaning around the van, grocery shopping, car wash, refuel and pack-up in preparation for our departure tomorrow. We will have had 8 nights at Alice Springs when we leave tomorrow, and still didn't get to see or do everything we wanted to. We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay, for me walking in the MacDonnell Ranges and the scenery was the highlight, but we both enjoyed the RFDS and School of the Air visits, while Noel particularly enjoyed just relaxing. Neither of us enjoyed the cold though. There is still so much more to see and do in the area, and we were very pleasantly surprised with the general vibe and state of cleanliness around town. Admittedly, we didn't go out at night. We would not hesitate in coming back again.

A clean and tidy town centre, and during our stay, we didn't notice any unruly behaviour.

A wander around town with Olli while Noel did the shopping

Appeared to be a venue for live music
