Sat 20 Jun 26 - Emu Park
16 to 25 Deg, partly cloudy with a light southerly wind
An early start to the day to watch the Socceroos v USA world cup group D match, kickoff at 05:00. I should have slept another hour, because Australia didn't turn up to play until the 60 minute mark. As soon as the full time whistle blew in favour of the USA, I headed down to the beach for a walk with Olli. It was a beautiful calm and sunny morning, sadly a large Green Turtle was laying upside down and dead at the high water mark, obviously tipped over by the waves overnight. Back at the van after breakfast and a few chores, we walked into Emu Park for our morning coffee, then Noeleene continued browsing in the shops while I returned to the van. When Noel returned, I climbed on the bike for my first ride in weeks. Unfortunately cycle infrastructure is not so good in and out of Emu Park, so I had to share a busy road to and from the Causeway, but followed nice cycle paths from the Causeway to Rosslyn Bay and back. It was nice to get out and stretch the legs again, especially on such a lovely day. The rest of the afternoon was taken up with a few phone calls, another walk, this time past the Singing Ship and along the ANZAC Memorial Walk, then back to the van for an afternoon refreshment with Noel, and a BBQ Steak dinner. Sitting outside in the evening sea air in shorts and a t-shirt was so pleasant, a great way to end a relaxing day.

Afternoon walk along the ANZAC Memorial Walk. These photos of the Memorial Walk appear in blogs from previous visits to Emu Park, but it's such a nice walk, it wouldn't be right to not show them again.
